College
Man, I feel you guys about the whole applying to college thing. It is stressful and scary. I've filled out applications by now but I haven't sent any in yet because I still have to finish up my portfolio. It's hard to think that something that I'm putting so much work into could end up with a rejection letter. But I try not to think about things like that... I'm applying to a couple of art schools but I really can't decide right now whether I want a fine arts degree or something with journalism or creative writing. Some people i talk to are skeptical of my choices because they involve competitive industries, but these are the things that i love right now and I've decided to go for it if I can. I'd advise anyone in a similar situation to do the same...if theres something that you love to do but aren't sure that you can make a future in it, college is your chance to figure it out. Going into all this right now it can seem like you are in a way choosing your destiny by choosing a school and a major to prepare for a job that you can do for your whole life. Not the case. Its important to remember that what you do 10 years from now could be completely different from what you do 15 or 20 years from now. We have the opportunity to have different jobs and different lifestyles throughout our lives if we want to. If you really have no idea what you want to do, get a libral arts degree. It will give you time to expand your horizans and you can go anywhere from there.
