Hey Everyone!

hey everyone. Its Janet. I know random..lol...I know most of you are like why she blogging... Anyways i just wanted to stop by and say hi...so hi...I was just sitting here thinking about fremd and was like oh ya 6th hour blogging...so i wanted to come on and see how u guys are doing...alrighty...bye everyone... and if Mr. spoor don't read this regularly tell him i said hi too.

the prom fashion show or what i like to call "the nigel barker show "was one of the more ridiculous things i have ever attended at wiliam fremd high school... haha. i thought it was absoulutly hilarious to watch all the girls screaming and freaking out. it was great. also all the guys trying to do all those dance moves and the music just made it a really fun time. all i got to say is after going to these hgih schools and seeing all these crazy girls hi confidence has to be at an all time high. haha 

nigel barker was awesome! it was really cool that he came to our school for fashion show. he was so freakin hot. anyways the fashion show was good but kind of sad at the same time becuase this show is the last show in fremd for us. i think my feshman year's show was the best. but yea it was really cool how nigel barker came! and i watch top model too and used to think he was hot. it was nice.

Nigel Barker... seriously. I saw him two periods in a row and oh my goodness he is fine. Thank you Kimberly for the fantastic seats 6th hour because his head was right in front of my face and I could have touched him but the police told me he had a tazer... =) The fashion show was pretty good... the star arch thing was a lot cooler than last year's flowered arch and I'm always impressed with the dresses the girls make because I could never ever make anything like that that looked normal!
As far as third graders plotting to attack their teacher... that's crazy. I'm considering going into elementary education but now I'm a little fearful for my life! I don't understand how 9 year olds can even concoct these ideas... I'm thinking they must have some psychological issues because that's just not normal!

I have to say that it is very shocking to hear that Americans are losing trust in our country. I think that it has to do mostly with the decline of the economy and people are losing their jobs. Anyway to end things on a more positive note. This is the last time we have to do the blog and we only have one quarter of school left, which is only about two months at this point. I can't wait till summer!

Country is on the wrong track

“The CBS News-New York Times poll released Thursday showed 81 percent of Americans believe the country is headed in the wrong direction.” Well, after talking about 3rd graders that tried to attack a teacher, it is pretty understandable. But whatever, 81% is away too high number. The main problem is that when Bush sends more troops to an Iraq, since that, things started to fall apart. Sub-prime lending, health care problem, but economic situation, etc…
It is not clear way to finish blogging but I was shocked how American people are losing trust toward this country.

Fashion Show and Last Post

So I really loved the fashion show. I was so excited to see Nigel!!! Kim nice seat choice :) The show was really good and I thought everyone did an amazing job. The setup was fun and the dresses were crazy. I would never be able to make a dress like that. Good job everyone.

I just realized that this is the last blog post that we will be making since the quarter is over. (I am pretty sure Spoor said we were not doing it 4th but I could be wrong)I thought maybe we could reflect on how we felt about the blog. For me I thought it was a cool way to hear everyones opinions and learn about all the current events. We have had some pretty sweet debates if we look back through the whole year. The only hard part about the blog is just remembering to get online and write on it. This blog was a fun experience.

Fashion Show

SO Kim basically did an amazing job at saving probably the best seats in the auditorium. Nigel was sitting right in front of us and a couple seats over at least from me. To me I thought the fashion show this year wasn't that bad. Last year I thought it was... ok but I say it was a lot better. Its kind of interesting to see how many people...mostly girls go extremely crazy over someone famous coming to our school. Not going to lie I was excited but not super duper crazy. I kinda wanna ask this for the guys... do you think that it is ridiculous how crazy the girls get over a famous attractive guy or are you guys just like... whatever? Just wondering. I think that its fine when people scream and stuff but then again I think it is a little ridiculous when they scream stuff like I wanna marry you and what not, like in the middle of the show. Just my opinion and sorry if I offended someone. But anyways good job Molly, Juliann, Michelle and Jim. (sorry if I left anyone out!)

i didnt know little kids would involve with muders! thats weird how 3rd grade plan to kill the teacher.. i wonder how bad the teacher was. but still i think many youths are affected by those shooting incidents that happened so far. see? the elders have to act properly so that young people wouldn't get involved. this is so terrible. how can little kids would think like that? i just feel bad for their parents. i just hope that these kind of horrible things would never happen again! people are getting insane!

That is insane that 3rd graders murdered there teacher. How did they even come up with that? In 3rd grade I wasn't that smart to have even come up with a good plan to do it. They all seemed to have a good plan and they even thought to cover the window so no one would see. I don't understand how this all started though just because the teacher was yelling at a student or something. Everyone wanted something bad to happen to a teacher when they were little because they didn't care for them, but no one would ever plan to murder their teacher and actually do it. I wonder how these kids were raised to even be able to think of murdering someone. A lot of kids these days are doing bad things at such a young age, like what stacey said but parents also need to keep better tabs on their children sometimes like telling them that killing someone is a horrible thing to do

That's crazy that kids that young could come up with a plan to murder. It's so scary how exposed kids are. A lot of kids are starting things earlier. Murder is certainly scary when you think about a third grader doing it. I can't imagine that. Kids really need to be brought up better by parents. Or their parents need to tell them that killing is not right. I wonder if their parents would ever expect it from them. As generations go on, kids become more violent and start doing illegal things (drinking, drugs, etc.) at an earlier age than in years past. It's really scary and is going to become very harmful to society.

Um WOW! im right here with dan those little kids are either geniuses or they watch wayyyy too many csi shows or whatever. But anyways i think it is horrible how third graders are planning murders now? The question i wanna know is how did this plan come into action, i mean you just dont hear one day "ya lets kill our teacher" and then they actually do it. I think its crazy how children so young are this violent. I know when i was younger i would think about doing bad things (definitely not killing anyone) but i would NEVER go through with anything. These kids must have really had so much hatred towards their teacher to take her life. I just think its really sad that kids are doing these horrible acts of crime. Its ridiculous what has become of the children of america and the scary thing is, is that these are the future adults of america. I mean if they are planning murders now, what could they be planning in the future. It just really realy scares me.

Tiny killers

Honestly when i first heard this story on the news this morning i had to giggle a little bit. Its relatively amusing but still terrible. I cant believe how crazy these little kids are. I also must comment on the fact that they are GENIUSES! Like i know its terrible and i know its wrong but these little guys had it all planned out! Its amazing. I wonder if they had a ring leader or if they just kinda all planned it out. Like i said I DO NOT APPROVE of these little murderers, but they must be smarter than your average kids. They should get into career fields like the military or spies or possible the FBI where their talents could be used properly. I know what everyone else thinks that this is crazy and what is our world comming to, but look on the bright side, children are working together with elaborate plans in order to accomplish a common goal. Its amazing. If only they could use their genius to do something a little less... evil.

3rd Graders Plan Murder

Like Kim said I can not believe that 9 third graders were able to plot an entire murder. They thought about everything from the how to getting rid of the body. My sister is a fifth grade teacher and when she talks to me about her class they never sound remotely close to as violent as those third graders sound. I don't know how they even got to the point where they had the weapons ready. Like many have said when I was in third grade I was playing with my barbies not planning murder. It was probably like how Aubry was talking about, that one kid thought it up and the rest followed. It has always been high schools that have been watched for violence but now everyone is going to have to watch who we all thought were the most innocent.

well you all say it like a third grader cant kill someone.. theres not an age where you suddenly have problems.. anybody can become a killer.. its not a shock to me that a third grader killed someone... im sure lots of third graders have killed people before. but if you dont realize that your nine year old kid is plotting shit like that its your own damn fault.. i think somewhere along the line the parents messed up big time.. but hey! maybe im wrong..

Wow, i would not expect third graders to do such thing like murder. They almost killed their teacher, and everything was planned before. Who would expect that third graders can be that smart to plan a murder. But i wonder if they realized that theyre going to have problems for a very long time. Its interesting why they attacked the teacher? did they get from the movies, games or family??

wow this is messed up

Hmmm. I guess some kids these days are pretty messeed up with violence and killing. I wonder if these students in Georgia have good role models at home. They probbably hate thier teacher and thought of a movie they wacthed on tv where a guy gets killed. Or probably saw it in some video games. Thier parents should be really concerned because these kids might actually do something terrible expecially when they grow up.

Wow thats sad how young kids want to kill there teacher. There is so much violence going on in the world. I wonder how they planned out a murder. Kids are watching to many movies and getting to much information about violence. I know junior high kids get in trouble. But a gropu of 3rd graders planning to kill there teacher. What has the world come to. I agree with Nick in 3rd grade I would worry about action figure and playing video games. I think the parents will face there charges because there to young. I wonder what they kids would of done if they were a little older probally would of tried to find a gun and shoot the teacher. Well atleast everyone is alright.

so I have trouble comprehending the idea that a group of nine year olds could plan an entire elaborate murder plan on their own... like everyone has been saying, when I was in third grade, I was worried about my newest crush and playing with my american girl dolls. How will the police deal with these kids, does anyone know? They are minors....but definitely had the tools they needed to complete their task or murdering their teacher. I wonder what the parents are thinking...and the teacher. Wow.

I totally agree with Catherine...these kids are only 3rd graders and have somehow been corruputed by society at their early age. I was reading posts on the daily herald website and I think it does stem from the home environment. We dont know what exactly went on with these kids, but the parents should be involved enough to know that instead of playing with barbies, their little girl is planning a murder. But their 3rd graders, and kids are impressionable...so one kid comes up with an idea and the rest follow. All i know is that i will have kids only when i can devote all of my time to them, so i could be able to notice things like a murder plot.

Man, what is this world coming to? When I was in third grade, my biggest concern was that I didn't have that elusive Charizard Pokemon card. I never had to worry about my nine year old classmates trying to attack or kill my teacher! It's really disturbing that such young kids were able to concieve this idea, and even actually try to carry it out. I'm just glad no one was hurt.

Everyone including children has access to so much information these days and although there are many ways in which this is beneficial it obviously has its downsides too. Childhood is probably one of the few things in life that is innocent and pure and if that isnt the case anymore then everything just seems pretty hopeless. This whole situation is so jacked up, it just scares me. I don't even know what else to say...

I also read that in math class and thought to myself how to 3rd graders even have this kind of mind to plot this sort of thing, and they had 9 boys and girls in on it as well! How in the world are 3rd graders able to plot a murder to this extent. When the police came numerous kids that were interrogated thought that the prank was simply a joke, and didnt actually want to participate in it. It shows just how short tempered kids these days are and how they think that they should get everything they want and when they get in trouble for something it is not fair. Wanting to kill someone for yelling at you when you are doing somethin you are not supposed to be doing is shocking. If i was this teacher, i dont know if i could ever go back in that type of environment ever again.

Wow...that's crazy. I often hears junior high or high school students get trouble with there teachers, but 3rd graders... never heard of it. And I'm surprised that they are so prepared for this action. First of all, how do they learned this kind of thing? May be it is bad influence from movies or video games. But whichever, there parents and teachers must watch there children more carefully.

3rd graders tries to attack teacher!!!!!

I was in math today and my teacher, Mr. Haney, always updates us on crazy stories in the news. In south Georgia at Central Elementary School a group of 9 girls and boys was going to attack their teacher. They brought in a dinner knife, duct tape, handcuffs and other materials. They were going to attack their teacher for scolding at a kid for standing on a chair. The kids planned on knocking her out with a crystal paperweight holde, handcuffing the teacher and then stabbing her with the knife. They also planned the covering of the windows so no one could see what was going on and also had a plan to dispose of the body. A student gave another teacher a tip that they had a weapon in school and authorities were called. A two of the kids were arrested.

Pregnant Man

That's definately a crazy thing that this man is pregnant. It just seems so weird and hard to believe. But I guess since he does have his female reproductive organs in tact, it could be possible for him to have a kid. Of course it may just be a hoaz. Who knows?

This whole thing about a man getting pregnant is so crazy...Is this like the first time that this has ever happened?? It's definatly news to me, I've never heard of anything like this except for on t.v. or something. I don't even see how thats possible even if he has a uterus i wouldn't assume that it still worked...Who knows, I suppose im just ignorant about that kinda stuff. Either way...this must be a pretty traumatizing experience for that dude...

Sabrina said earlier he was making the official announcement at a later date.... does anyone know if he has yet and if he's truly is pregnant or if it was just a rumor? I have trouble believing this, but like Julianne said, if his uterus was still intact than I suppose it is possible. How awkward though. And that poor guy, already having gone through the drama and stress that probably comes along with being confused about ones gender and having life changing surgery to secure his sexuality...and now being faced with this new huge obstacle. haha I laughed when Stacey said shes glad women have to go through pregnancy and not men. But as others have also said, I saw Juno and it definitely did a great job portraying things as realistically as hollywood can and not glamourizing or making pregnancy seem easy or fun for a teenager...or anyone.. what a scary thing to think about. Actually I'm not going to start that whole discussion...but thanks to all the boys who have all us girls props for being girls... haha.

Ok, so the man pregnancy makes sense I guess because they don't take out your uterus with a sex change right? He would have to have a c-section if some other areas were altered... You would think that this guy would have had the kid as a woman, but whatever. True or not, that's an interesting discussion topic and something to think about.

is this seriously a true story about this man being preggars? I heard it like a month ago from my friend and she found something online about it and I just thought she was kidding. How does that happen, how can a man become pregant? I don't understand how that could happen. I wonder if the baby will turn out to be normal or not and all that stuff. I want to know how the man is actually going to deliver the baby that's kind of awkward and gross. That is just so crazy that a guy could get pregnant.
And to the spring break blog, yes it went by way to fast. How come a week in school can't go as fast as a spring break. I hate how it was so fast. Hope everyone had a good break though!

A man giving birth would be really weird. That would hurt them so much and it just doesn't seem right. It kind of sucks that women have to go through all that pain and men do nothing. It makes sense though, that women are the ones giving birth to the babies and not men. I don't think it would be physically possible for them to do. It already hurts a woman. A man giving birth would probably hurt ten times worse. It sucks we have to go through it, but I'm glad it's us and not them.

i can imagine how this can be possible simply because the world is a really messed up place and you really have to expect the unexpected. what shocks me is how big of a deal this is in the news and online and stuff. I mean doesn't it say something about society that this is a bigger deal than a story abou the war or elections coming up? i mean yeah a guy who is pregnant is pretty crazy, i understand. but i have heard more about this male pregnancy thing than i have about the war in the past week or more important issues and i think that that is wrong. all i no is that kid is going to have an interesting life ahead of him/her. haha overall itsinsane that it actually happened because all i think of is that movie where that guy becomes president....was it arnold schwaznager?

Man Pregnant!?

I wonder how this could be a true story. I dont think that man can give birth even after hormones. Besides how would a kid feel that he/she is one of the few that were born that way. i think that everything should stay the way. Scientits should stop playing god because in the future they might create something that will destroy everything. By the way it is fool's day so the story might not be real:)

This is the first that i have ever heard of a guy being pregnant. I really don't believe it because guys don't have the proper organs to have a baby. But, that thought of it this being real is really gross. For a guy to have a baby that would be painful. You ladies are tough because of what you have to go through for child birth. I definitely couldn't deal with that pain. That is really weird.

Wow, there are lots going on around the world. Now that i heard this guy being pregnant, whats next? I guess people are trying out technology to do other things turning out weird. Im just curious why would this guy trying to make himself pregnant. And the idea that a baby is coming out from a man is just gross. Thats gross. My mom and sister and I were talking about this over break because it was on the news. I wonder what the kid is gonna come out like because from what i heard he/she had been taking a lot of hormones. If he's living as a man, but his body is working like a female's...i dont exactly know how well that would work out for the kid. Why doesnt his wife just have the kid??? and then i was wondering..sort of off topic..is he straight or gay? because if he was born with both parts, they normally lean to a more masculine or feminine side...and obviously he chose to be more masculine. But then he has that womanly desire to carry a child, but he cant so he did artificial insemination (which of course means he has fluids of another man in him) and i could understand if his wife couldnt get pregnant then she would be artificially inseminated by his sperm, but this is sperm in his body from some random man, so its not even like hes having a child with his own wife. I dont know...that was a long tangent, but its just so crazy! I would be kind of weirded out if i was his wife. but im not. so thats the end.

That would be crazy if a man gave birth. I agree with what Dan said I am glad that I cant give birth. Women go threw alot of pain giving birth I bet and I give them mad props for having children. Juno was a funny movie I dont want to have kids tell after I get married and I am done with college and have a steady job.

Sabrina, I think yout thinking of when arnald schwarzenegger is pregnant not john travolta the movie is caller Junior. Anyway i am persnallly glad i cannot get pregnant. I would hate giving birth it doesnt sound pleasant. I give you women all the credit in the world because that totally blows. It takes a lot of stength and courage to give bitrth and i dont think i have that. I saw juno and it really makes me not want to have anything to do with babies, atleast not now. good thing we have birth control.

Spring break was fast

I agree that spring break went by fasty but I had a lot of fun in my cousins house in florida. I visited many beaches in tampa and went Orlando for more fun places. Even though I only stayed thier for 3 days, I admit it was the best spring break I had since i saw some freinds in there. The only down part was mu parents were not in there and I was just with my brother Alto going to florida. I hope that everyone had a fun spring break. I'm still not ready for school yet but I gotta start keeping up since graduation is coming.

Pregnant Man

Ok seriously? Did anyone see that John Travolta movie where he gets artificially inseminated and gives birth to a baby/ babies? Yea whoever can tell me that title I swear I'll give you a candy bad. Anyways, apparently there is a man in Beijing who is preggers. Now mind you, he's a transvestite and it hasn't been unheard of for there to be a transgendered male becoming pregnant, but seriously? This looks like a natural born male and I dunno, he's already completed the full transgender operation so how is it possible for him to even get pregnant?

Spring Break

This spring break seemed to go by so quick. Maybe it's just me but i felt jipped. Even though i did go away, it still seemed like spring break just ended. To come back to weather like this really sucks, and I am sorry for those who were stuck here in the cold. But all in all i hope everyone had a fun springbreak.

Oh my gosh! I've been home all break and this snow is seriously insane. I mean, really? Two blizzards in the same week... and not just ANY week... SPRING BREAK?! AHH! I was depressed. Not to mention the fact that I did absolutely nothing fun at all this week so that made it worse. I hope everyone else had a great break though!!

As far as the euthanasia thing goes... I believe everyone has the right to decide how they want to die. If people can decide how they want to live, and live their lives in whatever manner they choose whether it's productive or dangerous or boring or whatever... they should also have the right to decide how to die. Especially if that person is going through something they know they won't be cured of or make it out of... that person should surely be able to decide if he or she wants to continue suffering that way or if he/she wants to move on. Stupid laws!!! ROARRR!!!

Blog

So i was not at school on thursday so im not sure if we are supposed to continue the blog over break. I noticed that no one is doing the blog so i have nothing to say because i was one of the last people to blog. Hopefully we were not supposed to continue this over break, but maybe all of you are just procrastinating until sunday to go nuts with it.

I really can't believe it is snowing still. It is almost April and still snowing. This has been one of the worst winters in a long time and it's so frustrating. Especially for softball, we have not been able to get outside. I feel like we're never going to play because of this. It's so frustrating. I want it to get warm!!

SCREW SNOW

its spring freakin break and there should never be snow on spring break EVER! i was so man when i saw the snow. My friend was talking to me online and was like "my first hours of spring break were spent shoveling" i was like man that sucks. What i want to know is where is this global warming?!?!? Al Gore sucks. My friend thinks that global warming was real, but god hates Al Gore so he made it snow to make him mad. Either way i wish it would warm up.

That snow on Friday was insane...I left that night for ny and my train ride ended up being 17 hours long. It was also ridiculously hot on the train until about 5 am and I thought i would never make it here but i'm happy that i did. The mountains are beautiful! I leave to go camping in them in an hour or so. There is still snow here so it will be pretty cold but i'm really excited. The snow is actually really weird though its like solid ice but it looks like snow and you can run and slide on it...

I know that most of us don't really want to think about having to blog over break but it would be cool to here what you guys are up too...

I still can't believe it snowed yesterday. Now I know the reason why people went on vacation this spring break. I'm so glad I am leaving this snow behind. Hopefully when I come back the snow will be gone. I'm sorry to all the people who have to stay in miserable Palatine for spring break. It sucks for the people who are playing a spring outdoor sport that they are going to be stuck inside practicing for a while unless it warms up fast. I think last year it snowed like this before spring break or even after? I don't remember but i remember during the spring it snowing. I hope everyone has a wonderful spring break!

The morning after pill

So I know we dont have to blog over break...but i found this info cause we were talking about it in class. The Plan B, or the morning after pill "contains a dose of the hormone levonorgestrel that is higher than in a single birth control pill. Levonorgestrel has been used in birth control pills for over 35 years. Plan B works like a birth control pill to prevent pregnancy mainly by stopping the release of an egg from the ovary. It is possible that Plan B may also work by preventing fertilization of an egg (the uniting of sperm with the egg) or by preventing attachment (implantation) to the uterus (womb), which usually occurs beginning 7 days after release of an egg from the ovary. Plan B will not do anything to a fertilized egg already attached to the uterus. The pregnancy will continue." So I just thought I'd clear this up, because spoor said it like an abortion, which it is not because it doesnt do anything to an already attached egg. It's like using birth control or spermicide, it just prevents that next step to pregnancy.

SNOW

I agree with you guys, the snow is terrible. I mean i dont know about you guys, but i have had enough with this winter. I want to be over so bad because after feeling 50 degrees again, overall, i just feel happier when it is nicer out. Yet al though the snow is really depressing right now, it is going to make leaving chicago a lot better come sunday when i go. haha I just feel bad for the people that have to stay home for spring break. sorry guys. hopefully when i come back the snow will all be gone and it will be in the 50's/60's the rest of the year. also the worst part of chicago winters is when the snow is melting and it turns like brownish black. it just looks so ugly and nasty and it makes my day a little worse evrytime i see it. hopefully spring will be upon us soon. =] have a good break guys

Euthanasia

I did the research paper about this topic last semester. And as I research more specifically, I realized it is really vicious circle between law and personal grace.
Like that lady in the photo, her life would be so painful and isolated by society, it would be easier for her to accept death.But law is saying "No". It is just repetition of this argument, and court will decide by which seem more right. This time, I guess that women had bad lack...

Surving and Snow

Ok so I don't think I would want a family member to suffer and keep them on life support if I knew they weren't going to make it. Its just giving them a longer and more painful death and I don't think I would be able to watch a loved one suffer that long. If I was the one who was actually dying I wouldn't want my family to watch me suffer. Its basically giving the person false hope that they may come out of whatever they have and they never will. Maybe get the whole family together to see this person for one last time but not for years and years to see if they will snap out of it.

I can't believe this snow either... from what I see/hear the snow is going to be around a lot this week. I am actually leaving for Florida last minute tomorrow so I'm pretty psyched. everyone have a good spring break!!!!!!

I agree with Jim. I would not want to stay living if I had to suffer. I wouldn't want to see anyone I loved go through that either. I would respect their wishes though, if they did want to stay living. I can't even imagine being in that situation. It must be so hard. It's sad when people try to keep people alive, just to have them "living", even though in most cases they have little brain activity actually going on. I would rather have them die in peace than have to remember them suffering like that.



I really hate this snow..it's supposed to be spring break not winter break. This is the worst winter ever, but hopefully it gets nice sometime soon so we can actually have a spring.

Snow

Ok, what is going on in Chicago!? It's March 21, my birthday is coming in 4 days! But anyway, we had too too much of snow this year. I just went to shovel that ridicules snow out from front of garage, and I was thinking "maybe Chicago is not affected by global warming, on the contrary, global COOLING might be happening."
Anyway I sick and tired of fighting with snow, I don't want to see that white powdery stuff on the ground anymore.

first of all i think it is so sad that someone has to go through something like that. You have one life to live and for someone to go through that is just horrible. Secondly i believe it is in the persons rights if they want to continue living or not. When you are in that much pain and there is no way for recovery, then why continue to go through that? Havin a doctor put you to sleep is the most resonable solution because they want a quick and painless death so they no longer have to live like that. I understand why it is illegal in most countries because it is technically assisting in murder, but it was not the doctors decision. They probably will commit suicide anyways which is more stress put on the family, so why not just obey the persons word and put them out of their misery.

So I am going to change the topic. I am staying home during spring break and I am looking out my window right now. It is snowing like crazy and I can't believe it. It looks like we are on winter break not spring break. I really hope that the warmth comes soon. I remember I think just last week I was able to come to school without wearing a coat. I want that weather back. At least there is plenty of basketball on that I can watch. I am jealous of everyone who is in warm places and are going to come back tan. I really needed to express my hatred for this weather right now. I hope everyone else is enjoying their spring break. I will see you all in a week. :)

Euthanasia

Okay, I agree that this is tough to form an opinion on. But I think it should be like... you can get euthanasia if you have a terminal illness with no chance at recovery. Why bother waiting if you are just going to die, right? Especially in cases like that lady in the photo, her life would be so painful and complicated by that thing, it would be easier for her to accept death.I guess it would be against the moral code of doctors to kill if a person had some hope of recovering, but I don't know if I want a slow and painful death when I could just control it and do it peacefully.

That picture was some scary shit!!! I feel really bad for that lady. That is horrible. I really don't know what to say about that, that should have listened to her plea. I mean, after all it is her life and she should be able to decide what happens to her, not someone else. I'm just really shocked at that picture i cant really even believe that that is real, its just so weird. I couldn't even imagine that every happening to someone, it's horrible.

Euthanasia

I am not really against euthanasia. I think that everybody has a rigth to choose between life and death. Sometimes it is better to die than to suffer for the rest of life. I wonder why people are against it since it is not them who die but those who want to die. People should have a right to choose between life and death because nobody has a right to decide about it. I looked at the picture and I found it very disturbing. I can't believe how big her eye got. I would want to die too if my face looked like that and I was in such pain. I know that next to the picture it described esthesioneuroblastoma (ENB) as an uncommon malignant neoplasm of the nasal vault. I still don't know much other than this. I am guessing it can not be cured since she asked her doctors to kill her. That picture is scary. I feel really bad for that women.

So during spring break I know some people are going off to warm places or working. I am getting my wisdom teeth out. I am kinda scared since I have never had any operations of any kind. I hope I am not still a puffy cheeked chipmunk when I get back on that Monday.

Okay this is a really tough thing to form a solid opinion about.
Sometimes, I disagree with it because it is assisted suicide, and I don't think it is a good idea to help people kill themselves. But most of the time, I can see why a person would not want to suffer anymore and decide to end their life. And it is their right to live or die. I know that sounds horrible, and I am not encouraging it or anything...but like Aubrey was saying... that woman was obviously suffering and in critical condition and if she really was that miserable, maybe she should be able to decide what she wants to do with her life. I totally see how people with fatal diseases or who are very old sign DNR - do not recesitate (spelling?) - sheets... when my grandpa was dying, the nurse tried putting an oxygen mask on his face and he lifted his hand and yanked it off. I sometimes wonder if he would have been a live a little longer if he hadn't been so stubborn and not wanting help. But that's me being selfish, and if it was his time to go and he didn't want to be kept alive by machines, than that was his decision. Wow Sabrina, this is a pretty serious topic to head into spring break with. Hey: does anyone know if we need to blog over break??

Euthanasia

Oh man, that was gross. I feel so sorry that that poor woman had to suffer that.
I don't know how I feel about the idea of Euthanasia. Sometimes living is worse than dying, as in this case. I don't know if people should be allowed to choose if they live or die, but I don't think people should have to suffer so much.
I know that I would never want to live in a condition like that.

I think laws like that are stupid, because if someone wants to die that bad, they are going to do it whether someone gives them permission or not. If someone doesn't want to live, why make them??? A woman in France requested the right to euthanasia after her face swelled to such an enormous painful size. I don't know the whole story, cos I'm basically too lazy to read the rest, but she was found dead two days after the courts denied her plea for the right to die.

So what I'm getting at is this...if you were in such a state, that every moment was just pure pain, that you couldn't move, couldn't breathe, were just waiting to die, do you think you should have the right to euthanasia?

I hate how everyone is going somewhere nice and warm. I'm stuck here. It's supposed to like snow and stuff on Saturday. That sucks. Spring Break is supposed to be nice, but it's going to be more like winter break. I have hated the weather and hate it even more since spring break is coming and it's going to be crappy out. I hope after that snow storm--if it even happens--it gets nice out. It would be nice to get outside a little because the weather this year has been so unpredictable.

So I've definitely been watching a Law & Order marathon all day, and the episode I'm watching right now is talking about what we talked about in class today!  How we have freedom of speech under the first amendment but as soon as the freedom of speech incites and results in violence it isn't protected anymore.  I felt super smart when they started talking about that in the trial because the guy on the stand was like, "Don't we still have freedom of speech in this country?!" because the records his company was producing were all like... neo-Nazi groups and what someone I guess called "hate core" music because the lyrics were TERRIBLE!!

The flu

Today i finally caught a stomach flu that has been going around. I dont think have ever been in so much pain. I cant imagiane what people did way back when before proper medical care. To date 9 people i know have caught this cirus and it SUCKS. My mom said its more painful than child birth. I cant eat, sleep, or even move without pain. This totally blows. The good part is that it only seems to last 2 days. Hopefully mine wil be shorter than that.

Catherine you're taking a TRAIN to New York?! That's going to be so exciting! I'm so jealous of the entire description of your trip.  I'm jealous of EVERYONE because I have to stay here while everyone goes off galavanting other states and COUNTRIES!! But Kimberly your idea sounds awesome.  Like I said before I think I'm going to visit some friends in college at the end of next week but my friend works in a hotel and gets mad discounts at any hotel of the same chain so I think we're going downtown to stay in  hotel too one of the nights and go shopping and to dinner and whatnot while we're down there.  I don't really enjoy shopping, I like when people shop FOR me but it should be fun because I could spend all day walking around Chicago and not get bored.  The only thing that sucks is that all my teachers are pounding me with homework this week and over break so I have to worry about all of that over my vacation week which sucks because I'd prefer leaving all my worries behind at least for a week! Clearly that's not an option, though.  I hope everyone has a safe and wonderful break!  Bring me back a present! =)

Spring break!! I wish I was doing something more fun than staying around here, but a week off of school will be amazing. I think I may also go downtown at some point, and otherwise just try to hang out with some friends around here and make the most of my time. spring break!!! one more day!

Wow so you guys are going on some pretty exciting spring break trips...hawaii, new york... I'm unfortunately staying here in Palatine. My mom wouldn't let me go with all of my girlfriends on a cruise or to Cancun, not because of safety/strict rules but because we all have college coming up very soon and she didn't want me to spend $2000 right before graduation and leaving for school. I completely understand but it's still hard.
Luckily, two of my friends are also home so we are heading downtown for a night, staying in a hotel on Michigan ave. (using an aunt's hotel points) which should be very fun. Taking the train down, shopping, dressing up for dinner.. a very girlie trip. But I'm excited. And who isn't excited for a much needed one week off of school, right? I'm only a little bit sad that everyone will come back with a tan but me... but I'm trying to get over that. haha
Everyone have safe weeks/flights/trips/rides and have sooo much fun!! (Once we get back we only have a couple weeks until the AP tests, and that's practically it. Can you believe it?!?!)

Spring Break!

I can not wait until Spring Break! This past week has been the longest week of my life, and its only Wednesday. Thankfully tomorrow is the last day of the week so it is kinda like a thursday today. I am going to Dominican Republic with my family and cousins then one my friends families. I know it is kind of lame that I am going with my family, but whatever i'll be able to lay out on the beach and get tan. I am just worried that it might rain or something when we are there. That would be a bummer. I am still so excited! It can't come soon enough!!

spring break!

I can't wait for spring break! I'm going to take a train to NY and go camping in the Adirondack Mountains and catch a Ratdog show or two. I'm totally jacked about it. I want Bobby to play Saint of Circumstance for me...maybe some Lazy Lightning? We'll see! I really hope that it will be warmer outside...im ready for some summer sunshineeeeeeeeee!

Spring Break!!!

I can't wait until spring break. It is going to be so much fun, i am going to play soccer again:). Spring break is so cool, we get about 10 days of no school. it is preparation for the summer, especially for us seniors:P. How about you guys, what are you going to do over the spring break? I can't wait until spring break. I'm going to North Carolina and it should be great. A vacation is definitely in order because I am really not enjoying school all that much right now. But what I'm really excited for is the weather there. The weather here has been crap it got into the 50's once or twice and in NC for spring break it is supposed to be in the upper 60's to 70's, so i cant wait for the warm weather. Also just like everyone else I really want a break so that I can relax. It's going to be nice to get up when ever and not have to work for a week (sorry for those who have to work, I know what it's like, I had to work the last 2 spring breaks). It is definitely going to be a great time to relax and get away from everything and I cant wait!!

Spring break

So for spring break i dont have any really big plans. I want to drive up to Northern and go to a sub sandwich shop owned by Mr. Hardy the woods teacher. Id like see all my college friends and just get a chance to relax! its been a hard quarter and im getting really sick of school. I wish spring break was longer because i need some freakin rest. Unfortunately i will have to work during break but hopefully my boss will not make me work every day. Whatever happens im sure ill have fun.

Spring Break

AHH I'm so excited for Spring Break!! Unfortunately I'm staying in the lovely bubble that is Palatine and pretty much all my friends from everywhere are going on vacation so that's not really fun, but I'm really excited to finally have a week off of school. School's been stressing me out lately; I feel like all my teachers are out to get me with all this freaking homework and whatnot. I was supposed to go to Mexico with the rest of the world but my mom took too long to give me permission to go and they booked the trip without me! Plus my parents weren't going to pay for any of it and I would have to pay for it all myself and the trip would have cost $2000!!!!!!!! YEAH RIGHT!!! So then me and my friend who goes to Hoffman had an idea to go on a four day vacation to California, and we were all ready to book the trip and then she was like, "Well I might be going somewhere this summer and I can't afford both trips so I'll get back to you," and she never really did get back to me. So now I'll be here. But I'm going to visit some friends in college so that'll be like a mini-vacation even though it won't really be a change of weather which is REALLY what I need!

Spring Break

I'm pretty excited for Spring break. I'm not going on a vacation or anything, but I'm planning on taking a trip down to Sonic Drive-In. It's in Peoria, so that trip would take up most of the day. Other than that I just plan on hanging out. I guess I'll have to go to track practice, but it'll be a nice break from school.

Its our senior year and it would put a damper on our last few months if one of you went missing...and it would suck for u. So be safe! Anyway, I'm not going anywhere for spring break...I was going to go to Florida because my dad lives there and then just meet up with my friends who are going to be there, but i suck at planning things so when i actually got around to buying plane tickets, they were like 700 bucks. So my mom didnt feel like paying that much money so I'm stuck here going to lacrosse practice and working. Its not that bad tho b/c it will give me a chance to catch up on things (like sleep and cleaning) and I'm going on 3 college visits. So I hope you all have fun wherever you go...and if you're staying home then lets hang out!

Spring Break

I am really excited for spring break. I would be visiting my cousin in Florida and will stay there for a week. I cant wait till the weather here in Illinios is perfect. The only downside to my spring break is that I had to do a paper in my english class. I hope that everyone would be going somewhere to enjoy the sun. Lots of people will probably get drunk so take it easy on the booz.

We are so close to spring break I cant wait I need a break from school. I am going to the dells this spring break with a bunch of my friends. Also I am going to be working at my new job and going to be sleeping in for break. But its going to be fun, because most of my friends are going out of town so I get to hang out with them also. I'm excited for spring break too..I'm not going anywhere unfortanutely because I really can't because of softball. I am working though..so making money will be nice and it will be nice to not be in school. Hopefully the weather is some what nice here. I don't have anything too exciting planned. I do wish I was going somewhere though. Kinda sucks, but I haven't been able to go anywhere over it so I'm kinda used to it by now.

i cant wait for spring break. its not only because im going to hawaii but because i really want and need a vacation. I am really is of the weather here and i just want to get away for awhile to clear my head and relax. Im glad that the quarter doesnt end until a week or so after we get back cuz that gives me a chance to get my grades up after the break because right now, im not really focused haha. ive only been to hawaii once before and it rained EVERY day. it was kind of funny though because the news stations were all freakin out and it was literaly like tiny showers they were like people make sur eto remember your rain ponchos or else just stay indoors. haha. hopefully my luck will be better this year and i will get some sun. =) all in all, its only 4 school days away guys, hang in there.

im so excited for spring break. im so sick of school. i just want it to end like right now. waking up early in the morning is so annoying for 4 years in fremd. i'm just sick of fremd. gosh. same thing over and over again. so yea for spring break.. i can sleep all day as long as i want. im not doing anything special but just go to art school everyday.but yea im sure im excited!

Spring Break/ Distrubing mail

So I am going NO WHERE for spring break. Kinda bummed out because I like all of my friends are leaving me but I guess its kinda time to relax and be to myself for once.

Anyways, I was talking to my mom and she told me this really disturbing story. I don't know if all of the facts are true but I would believe this. My mom said that she heard somewhere that there was a family in America who has a family that is a prisoner of war in another country, sorry I'm not sure of what country. But the family got a letter or package in the mail and supposable got fingers in the mail, of their family member. The family was extremely shocked but they said that their package gave them some hope that he/she was still alive. To me that is extremely disgusting and I have no idea how I would respond to that type of thing. But is this type of terror really necessary? I was also thinking about this while I was writing this entry but I don't feel like we are really in a war right now. Does anyone else feel this way? I mean yea I hear tons of stories about people getting killed but I feel like this is no actual war going on.

Kids in a Car

I agree with Kim about this. If the mom was only a few feet away dropping something off for donation the she shouldn't have been arrested. It is completely understandable though if she was gone for a long time, but from what I heard it was not long at all. If she did get them out of the car then it would have been a huge hassle for her, so I understand why she left them in the car. I don't really understand why she was arrested, she didn't do anything wrong, my mom used to leave me in the car when she would go drop off or pick up her dry cleaning and she was only gone for, at the most, a minute, and she never got arrested. This whole thing doesn't really make much sense.

leaving kids alone...

I def. heard that news about the woman who had a three year old and a young baby (or somewhere around those ages) in her car and she parked and quickly stepped out to drop off a donation (was it money? i heard clothes... either way...) and get back into the car. And she got arrested. I was shocked... what was she suppossed to do? Another woman recently got arrested for leavin her kids in the car while she was in a mall shopping for over an hour and i completely understand why she got arrested. But really... what was that woman with the donation suppossed to do? That's like when you park your car right on the curb and drop videos in the Blockbuster return slot... you're only a few feet away. Does that mean that a mom is suppossed to unload her kids just to drop movies at Blockbuster or books off at that library drop in box? I feel bad for her because that really is not neglect... I know that I would've done the same thing.

So I found the news that women was arrested by leaving children alone inside her car. But there was some questionable point. That women was only 3 yards away from a car, for just donate some money. It took only few minutes. And when she came back, unfortunately police came there and police arrested her. How do you guys think about this? I know it is not good idea to leave children alone inside a car. But this time, she even see her car. I don't think police should arrested her.

in response to the video game topic, i think that video games have no connection what so ever to kids growing up with skills in guns or weapons. Since when is pushing buttons practice for shooting a gun? Sure they could give kids ideas and what not, but when you really think about it, the people that usually end up in possesion of guns are the lower class people. Kids that play shooting video games are usually on the wealthier side if they can afford to purchase that kind of stuff, and grow up in a loving household. Sure there are always a few exceptions, but video games do not influence kids and make them think that this kind of behavior is okay in our society.

STDs

That statistic of 1/4 girls having an STD is crazy. I don't think it is that bad around here, but seriously, that's ridiculous. I don't know what we have to do to keep kids safe. I would say that better health education would be helpful for some teens. I think my health class here was pretty good about teaching everything that could happen, but I know some other places aren't so good. Also, I think the parents need to step in and do a better job with their kids. Parents have the responsibility to teach their children how to live. Sex is part of life, they need to talk about it. Not just, don't have sex til you're married! Because that isn't realistic these days. Kids need to be aware of STDs, pregnancy, the emotional stuff that sex might cause. And the parents are the only ones who can really make their kids understand all that.

I really wanted to get off the depressing topic of the puppy and thought I would go back to some topics that were earlier in the blog...

First I want to say bye to Janet. I was just starting to really get to know you and now you are leaving. I hope you have a good time down South.

Second, I want to go back to the topic of video games. I agree with Aubrie that maybe this is where all those young shooters are learning how to use guns. My mom would never let me have any PlayStation's or xboxes. She would tell me that they would "rot my brain." Instead I would play games on the computer. I love Sims. I wish I had guitar hero but that would mean having one of the game systems. But anyway, I have never been a fan of the violent, let me kill you, games. These are the games that many young boys are playing. They are growing up thinking that this kind of violence is OK. If it is played at a young enough age, the child might not be able to tell the difference between reality and their TV screens.

Puppy

I totally can not understand why that soldier did that. If that puppy was dead already it is still horrible thing to do. He could just bury it under ground and that's 1000X better than throwing it off the cliff. I don't want to think this but if puppy was alive, that is just a sin. Well, I think it is still crime to throw a dead animal, anyway it is just horrible.
And I can't believe the soldier who was filming that video. Well first of all, why would you want to film a soldier throwing a puppy off the cliff? It just make any sense. I guess that soldiers have some mental problems. Because there couldn't be any way, normal people throwing a puppy off the cliff.

Who in their right mind would throw a puppy off of a cliff? That is just so sad. I don't remember who made this comment but said that peolpe think it could have been dead? That would be hard to find out but who knows. If the puppy were dead then it would be a different story. I just don't understand why he would do this. This is just telling us that the war is messing people up. I remember hearing stories about Vietnam and how peolpe got messed up and never thought that would happen again, but maybe that is why this guy did this? I don't know. It's just so sad.
Then to that video game comment, sometimes I do think that what we see on those games can make us think to do bad things because people get ideas from games like Grand Theft and stuff. I heard in psych, I don't know if it's true but it could be, that two guys were playing Grand Theft Auto and were drinking and decided to go rob a bank then on their way home ran over a lady. That is insane, but then maybe they were just psycho and it wasn't because of the game but if a game could seroiusly do that to someone then that is crazy!

i feel bad for the puppy.. i cant beleive someone would actually gave one's life away. its not fair. even though animals are not human.. they are still living thing. and its not like puppies would harm people. so stupid. anyways i think people should take care of animals preciously. even though they are just animals they have life too.

TEH ANIMAL CRUELTY

I came across the video of the puppy throwing while I was doing my political advocacy group search. I started to watch it, but closed it right away. That guy was actually smiling about killing that puppy. I love animals, so I just couldn't watch it. How someone could kill an innocent animal like that is completly appalling.
On that topic of animal cruelty, did you know that thousands of seals are brutally murdered each year during the commercial seal hunts? Hunters use clubs to crush the seals skulls, and then sell their skin. They don't even eat them! Just thought I'd spread the word. SAVE THE SEALS!

after watching this video, all i can say is wow. To think that anyone in their right mind could do such a horrible thing like that just makes me sick to my stomach. It shows us how little life means to some people in our country and how stray dogs don't matter. It is still a dog and is a living life form just like you and me. The marines are trying to cover it up and apologize but no matter what they say nothign can reverse the occurance that happened. What they did is exactly the opposite of what they are in the marines for. They are trying to save and preserve life, as they sit there and throw innocent puppies off a cliff.

I just dont really understand, even if it is fake. who do you think would make it? idk the whole thing in general kind of disgusts me. if it is true i think that the the war is really dangerous for our soldiers not only because the might die everyday they are out there, but because of the post traumatic stress that many go through after the return. I believe that more soldiers have died from post traumatic stress from this war than the vietnam war. To me, this is a big issue because that just means that things a messed up over there and that our soldiers are getting affected not only phiscally but mentally as well.

This video was sooooo depressing. I love puppies and dogs so much. I can't be live someone could actually do this. I could not tell if the video was fake or not. No matter what that should not be happening. I am not going to watch it again but if I was going to I would look to see if the puppy moves at all. I didn't think it was moving so I hope it was already dead. If that puppy was not already dead that soldier has no heart. Who can actually look a cute cuddly puppy in the eye and then throw it over a cliff. SERIOUSLY????? This made me so mad.

Whats the the purpose of throwing puppy off cliff? the puppy did no harm to anybody and the soldier just threw him off the cliff like some kind of toy. those are really stupid since they put the movie on youtube. Did they really think that people are going to like it? if i were their general i would send them to a psychilogist to see if they are psychos.

OK so i don't know how many people know about this.Did u guys hear/see the video on you tube about the marine that through a puppy off a cliff? If you haven't just go to you tube and put in"us marine throws puppy off cliff". Its so sad. Some think its fake but i don't. Some think the puppy was already dead. if that was the case, it doesn't matter. How would the marine like it if someone just through is dead body over a cliff without second guessing. Pre-mariage sex....

personally, i know i want to wait before i get married. However i don't think its a crime to have sex before marriage. It really depends on the people involved and what they believe in/want. I'm waiting but if it happens before marriage I'm not going to kick my self...u know. Now that doesn't mean that for little kids to go out and turn to hoes/tricks. Times have changed and its not like it use to be. We don't get a scarlet letter. However, i don't support young people having sex.

I think this is a really good topic because it's something I'm always thinking about now with all of the shootings going on. Where do kids learn that this is ok? When we were doing that lobby thing yesterday I was on a website against guns and it had the statistics of people who were killed by guns in different countries in 2004. In Finland there were 5 people killed, and then it listed about 5 other countries, the highest number in one country being 500. Then it showed the number of people killed in the United States in 2004, and it was over 11,000. How come in the US we have so many more shootings, so much more violence? I do think video games have something to do with the amount of crime going on. Look at how many kids we know this year who have gotten in trouble with the law for stealing. They dont need to steal, they all have plenty of money, but video games glamorize crime. My cousin broke his brother's arm because they were doing a wrestling move they learned on a video game. It's examples like these that make me think video games have a huge impact on the way kids think and see themselves. The reset button teaches kids that they can be invincible, and in reality they obviously aren't.

Video games

I think it is a big issue that video games do mess up a young kids life. My little brother comes home from school and just plays xbox 360 and plays halo and know he is a violent kid and always tries to fight me and things and always talking about halo. He doesnt do his homework much it is just real bad because teens just want to play more and more until a new game comes out. I agree with VJ if you die you just restart the game. But in real life you cant do that so why make a game that you can. But video games like sports isnt bad I love sport games they dont have any violence in them. But many people have different veiws on everything thats just my thought.

I really don't think that video games have a big influence in corrupting kids lives. Video games are not real and because of that I don't think that it has much, if any, influence in a kid's life. The thing is, in a video game if you die, get arrested, crash or any other thing that you don't want to do, all you have to do is press the reset button and everything is fine just like nothing happened. In real life if something like this happens, you're screwed and it will affect there rest of you life or in the case you die, end it. if anything is going to corrupt a kid's life it is most likely going to be from what they experience in there home or with their friends.

Video game influence

So the new grand theft suto is coming out soon and it got me thinking about video gave violence. Everyone made a huge deal when that game came out because it was supposedly currupting our youth. I have never felt like video games effected me but people always make a big deal about it. I am reading the book "Brave new world" and it really shows the desensitization of children. Things are becoming less and less important and scandalous so video games are pushing the limits too. What do you guys think?

SEX

I don't see anything wrong with premarital sex. Everyone can decide when to have sex and when not to have sex. If they choose to give up their virginity before marriage, then that's their decision. It is really nice though when people wait until marraige to have sex for the first time. I feel like in this generation though, people are having sex at such a young age now. I always see young girls walking around pregnant. If kids want to have sex and don't want to become pregnant, then they should really be safe about having sex. And another problem is all the STD's there are out there now. If everyone waited until marriage, the STD rate would probably go down. But then again, if you find someone you love and can stay committed to, then you should be able to do whatever with that someone.

SEX!!!

Dont have sex. You will get chlamydia and you will DIE! That's from Mean Girls. So I dont really have views on sex before marriage. Great for the people who choose to wait till marriage. Fine for the people who dont. But what I dont understand is "the one". People get married and divorced all the time. Just because they waited until they were married to have sex doesnt make them a better person, especially since an outrageous number of people are getting divorced within the first two years of marriage anyway. So its a like a person waited all that time to do it with that speical person, "the one", and then they end up divorced anyways. Because of that, I believe that as long as you love someone and you have a mature and safe relationship, I think you should be able to share that with that person. I'm not for one night stands and horny hookups, I think no matter what it should be about love. <3

I guess people just have to be smart about what they do. I definately think that people should love eachother if they're going to have sex. I guess I don't think that they HAVE to be married, but it's definately a good idea.

I grew up in a strict Muslim household. My mother would drive me to Sunday school every weekend and I would fast blah blah blah. Around the age of 14, when my parents began seperated, I came to realize, that although I was following the steps of being a good Muslim, I didn't actually *believe* it. Now at 17, I can admit that I do not have a religion, nor do I follow any strict moral guidelines. The whole sex before marriage issue...isn't really an issue. If you want to have sex, and you're being safe, and you don't regret it, then what's the problem? I don't think anyone should be ashamed or feel guilty for having sex before they are married. I have friends who are afraid to admit they have sex because they're ashamed and don't want people to judge them. I've noticed, lately, in high school a lot of people are big church goers. (There's ^nothing^ wrong with this). But with uprising and gospel choir and bible study, it's hard not to feel the pressure to be good and faithful. All I'm saying is, if you feel a moral *obligation* to stay a virgin till you're married, that's you're own opinion and belief. I just don't think we should push our morals on other people. (Not that anyone here is.)

Premarital Sex

I think that having sex before marriage is a pretty common and should not be new to anyone else. I still believe that being abstinent before being married is the safest and best way to show that you two love each other. But having sex before is not a bad thing either. If you both trust and love each other then theres nothing to worry about when it comes to sex. If sex is the one thing that could keep the couples in a close relationship then they should just go for it. I hope everyone is not bored doing thier vikes.

I think that it is up to you on what you want to do. I personally think that waiting until marriage or something is what peolpe should do. I mean if you find yourself in love before marriage then it doesn't matter as long as you think you are in love or soemthing. If you want to have sex before marriage and you just do it just to do it then do whatever you want. It's not my life, no one can choose for you. I just personally think wait until that girl/guy is the one. I don't get why people just have to sex just to have it I have always thought it should mean something but I don't knwo that is just me. Premartial Sex

I think that everybody should do whatever they believe is right. Times have changed and many teenagers decide not to keep their virginity and honestly i do not care what they do. As long as i am not affected by what they are doing. I think that it is kind of peer pressure. People think that if their friends have sex, they should do it too. Otherwise, they will be scared that their friends will make fun of them.

I think stuff like premarital sex depends from person to person, everyone should just do what they want. I feel that it is okay before marriage, but not casually. It really changes people and relationships when sex is brought in. I think that for sex to work in a relationship, there should be some time before they take that step and the people should talk about it before just jumping in. And some people don't even believe in marriage. Gay people can't get married, but they still wait until the appropriate time. I think that's what it is about. Just make sure that you are personally ready because maybe marriage isn't the appropriate time for you. Maybe it is long before that... or maybe it comes with getting married.

So i used to believe what kristi wrote the whole you have to wait until marriage thing, but now i think you just have to be in love. I used to be a pretty churchy god loving kid, but i have lost my faith. I have changed my morals so much in highschool because i think the old morals are outdated. Things are different now and times have changed. I still think sex is no game, its serious stuff, but i dont think its only for marriage. Plus what if you suck at it or your lover does and your stuck with them forever, that kinda sucks. But ya im not opposed to premarital sex as long as it is out of love and not random hornyness.

Premarital Sex

To me premarital sex is wrong but it comes from my faith and what I believe in. In my religion you are supposed to wait until you are married to have sex and save yourself for the one you love...when you are married. I know this my sound a little stupid but I actually wear a promise ring and it says on it 'true love waits'. Basically just saying that I'm going to save myself for marriage. The ring is something for me to keep myself in what I think is morally right and not to be tempted. My mom bought me a nice fancy one and I lost it so I bought myself a new one because of that reason. Now don't get me wrong I don't hate people or even dislike people who have premarital sex they have their opinions and I have mine but that doesn't mean I don't like them. But yea... lets not let this be a war of faith ok... they are just opinions. =)

Bully

Bullying is also in the form of peer presure sometimes. They are being forced to bully since thier friends are also bullies. But mostly, I have to agree with Salman about people who look wierd and act differently than the rest are most likely to get bullied. People who are friends that are talking bad things to each other is different than talk bad to someone you dont even know. The worse of bullying is not physically, but emotionally as well. Girls has this kind of manipulation on others which makes them the worst kind of bullies. As for Molly's topic, I think that premarital sex is done by most people more than the couples who actually does marriage first.

So I dont really have very many veiws on bullying. I never really got bullyed when I was younger. I think guys bully way more than girls do, but girls just bully in a different form. I think that although guys cause each other physical pain, girls cause each other mental pain which could last a life time.

I really am curious to know everyones thoughts on premarital sex. maybe we already talked about this, but im not really sure. i know that although most people say its "immoral" i dont think theres anything wrong with it if you find the right person. im sure alot of people agree with me and they just dont want to admit it. just curious. :)

Bully

I agree with Sam bullies bully people because they have something agaisnt them or just pick on the way they look. Many boys that are bullies because they look weird or just because there appearance. Us guys dont care what someone has to say they we will just say it to there face. If i get mad I just say what i feel. Girls just say things and it gets around. People just like to talk trash and make fun of people and pick on random people or they hate them. Bullies are just a waste of time and dumb.

It's scary how much people's words can have an effect on other people. My mom told me about this story that a person from her work told her. The lady's daughter was bullied really bad at school. These "popular" girls would harrass her and bully her to the extreme. They would go out of their way to prank call her. She changed her number many times, and they some how always found it. They would egg her house. She was very depressed and her parents had to take her to a really good therapist in Indiana because they were so worried about her. It's so scary that people are that mean and go to that extent to make another person's life a living hell. It would be so much better if people just worried about themselves and weren't that mean to people. When my mom told me that, I felt really bad for the girl and couldn't imagine having to go through that.

Bullying

Personally I think that bullying anyone for any reason what so ever is just plain dumb. I dont understand why people have to bring down others and try and make them feel bad just to make themselves happy. Obviously they themselves have low self esteem if they have to make other people feel bad to make themsleves feel good. Bullying can lead to many other things as well. The kid that gets bullied can take revenge in something like a school shooting. That would just be killing many innocent people only because one person depressed another. Even though not EVERY single person in the world is going to be able to get along, the ones with problems should just ignore eachother and make peace. Bullying is happening way to much lately and it should really just be stopped to stop so many problems in the world.

i feel that people who bully other people are just trying to take out their own insecurities on other people to make themselves feel better about themselves. I also think that the way that girls and boys bully differ drastically. When a boy bullies someone it is usually about a person's appearance or some flaw that is picked out about a person. Also, guys usually say it straight to a person's face which is one reason that an actual fight is more likely to occur between guys then girls. Girls usualy will do it all sly and say it behind the person's back or spread a rumor about a girl/boy that isn't necessarily true. I think that one reason they do it this way is because it is almost like they can act like they never even hurt someone's feelings because they didnt say it to their face. To me this could be a lot more embarrasing for a person than if the bully said it to my face. I mean i dont want the whole school to think something about me is true when it actualy isnt. That would suck.

So I have different views on bullying. For both girls and guys, there are those certain people that stick out to you as being fake. You think to youself, 'Why are you trying so hard?' They try to be the funniest or the hottest and when they aren't thats when they turn to attack other people. Those are the insecure people who have to put others down to make themselves feel better. But then I think there are cases where it's innocent. In all cultures all across the world, people notice the person who doesn't fit in. Whether it be taller, fatter, smaller, people find differences among each other and make fun of it. I dont think kids mean to be mean, i think they are just realizing that 'oh, that kid is different from us'. They think being different is funny and make fun of kids for that without realizing it may be hurting them. I think it's natural to jugde people, some people just take it too far.

The idea of bullying is so cliche that it actually make me laugh. What it the point of bringing someone down, when really, you're defiling your own personal sense of self-love. There's something so insipid about the need for one to hate someone for no real reason. My brother goes to plumb grove, and not one day goes by that he doesn't come home telling me about some kid calling him a terrorist or osama or some other b.s. Freud stated that the need to punish others through verbal and physical abuse comes from the desire to take out ones own pain caused by something else. I don't believe this. My thoughts are that if someone is bullying someone else, it's because of their own self-hate. Yea sure, I've been extremely mean to people before, but I will never ever emotionally cripple someone to the point of their wanting to take their life or the life someone else. It's just absurd to think that people keep *digging* at other people's weak points. I've been called a dinosaur, a sand n*gger, terrorist, bindi, and other such idiotic names. The main thing is, I'm secure enough with myself not to really give a damn. It's all about self-confidence. If everyone were to love themselves for who they are, then why the hell would anyone want to bull someone else?

i don't take psych so i didn't watch the video.. but theres two thing that i think about bullying. i think that bullying is that you look down on people that are weaker than you.. and someone have sth special that you don't which makes you jealous..
usually you dont bully others when they are much stronger than you because bullies will know that they arent going to win. they don't even try.
but for people who are jealous they just bully becase that person have something that you don't..i don't know but i think it's lame. oh ya i never really saw people bullying in fremd so thats good

Bullying

I think I saw that video too in my psych class. When we were younger I didn't really see that much bullying just maybe some kids getting made fun of for something. I didn't really see it with any of the people I hung out otherwise it was all joking. Now I agree to what Krysti said it's all in the words and people just get put down and there self esteem goes down so they don't think they fit in or something. Sometimes I wonder if there is another way we could stop this. I know my brother got picked on by this one kid because he was always shorter than all the other kids so the kid would make fun of his height and tell him he couldn't do something because he wasn't tall enough or something. I don't know i wish we could stop bullying.

New Topic: Bullying

In my psychology class we are learning about how different people act and why they do in that certain way. Today we watched a video on bullying. The video showed how bullying starts from youngsters on the playground and then keeps rising from there. The video showed clips of younger kids beating up other kids on the playground where they are actually kicking them really hard and punching them. The video also showed that most teachers don't do too much about them either. In elementary school I really didn't see any bullying going on like kids picking on kids and beating on each other. I did see more people picking on each other in a more psychical way in Jr. High then in high school actually. My little sister was bullied and she had girls throwing gum and clay in her hair. In high school I see more bullying as in a word matter. The video also said the kids that were bullying were just trying to get attention out of the whole ordeal. What do you guys think, was there a lot of bullying when we were younger and how did you see?

i really liked the last two days of class too. I mean its fun to mix things up a little bit instead of taking notes and doing the same things everyday. I also liked how we all had to dress up and stuff. I mean it made it a lot more fun and i guess realistic too. I thought that Kim was an excellent leader and that all of our amendments were legit. I thought it was hilarious how Spoor would cheer after all the things and it really made it a lot more interesting to hear how people felt on different issues. All in all, i think a learned a lot of things that i didn't know about people in our class than before we did this project.

Class

I have to say that what we did the last two days in class was a lot of fun. At first I wasn't sure that I was really going to like it because I definitely thought that it was going to have to be all serious and stuff like that. But as it turned out it wasn't really like that at all and it turned out to be much better than I expected. I rerally enjoied it an would defintitely want to do something like this again.

Class

The last two days of class were awesome. For me, that was ideal way to learn something. We had a lot of fun and still we got tons of information from differnt view points. That was one of great points of this project, we can get all kind of ideas from everyone and share information. Of course, I also enjoyed all the characters and outfits (Thanks Tom!) . But I'm also concerned about my grade, I think I didn't ask enough questions... Overall that projects was awesome and I hope we can do it like this again.

Class

Class the last two days has been a lot of fun. I enjoyed all the characters and outfits. I agree that Tom's was the best :) Overall the project was not as bad as I had originally thought. I was so stressed about this thing you have no idea. Anyway I think that it went really well and that everyone did such a good job. And Kim I loved the Yays. That was priceless. This project really taught me a lot and I don't think I could ever handle the real thing. In ours we were able to joke around a little. I am still worried, like Aubrey, about the grade. I don't know if I said enough for all the points. It is hard for everyone to get something in and share their thoughts. This project was scary, but so much fun at the same time. I am really glad we got a chance to do this.

So today...

Class today was interesting. Tom is a character. That dress... hahaha. The only thing missing is his wig and makeup..hahahaha. I think we all did a good job on this project. so kudos everyone.

class

Class yesterday was a lot of fun. I love how we can be loud and have fun but still learn at the same time. There aren't many classes that are like that. I was really nervous going to class yesterday because I thought it was going to be stressful but I enjoyed it a lot. I am still kind of nervous though because for our grade we need to talk and ask questions and make ammendmants and I'm finding that kind of hard to do. But we still have a couple more groups that need to go so hopefully we'll all get a chance to say something and participate. Everbody have a good weekend!!

Class

I thought class would be boring with everyone just reading of there paper. But it was really fun listening to people make amendments. Spoor looking like the king of the world sitting on top of his desk. It seemed like a real meeting. Spoor screaming things out and us clapping and banging on desks when do we ever get to do that in school. Toms dress was the best out of everyones I couldnt belive he wore that all day underneath his clothes. Hopefully today will be as fun.

Class yesterday definately was a lot of fun. There were lots of funny costumes and it was interesting to hold a meeting like we did. Like Jim said, it really did feel like we were at a delegate meeting. I hope today goes just as well as yesterday did, and I'm really looking forward to it.

How would you like to be the president of the U.S. right now? I,m sure you are going to get massive amount of work. About the sub-prime lending, war in Iraq, economics.ext... you must deal with all the problem in United State, and problems in all around the world.
United State is holding 1/4 of world money, that means we have most influence on world economics. I think that's too much responsibility to take, so I don't want to be president.

our PIMP party

I was really nervous going into class today because I had no idea what to expect and I definately do not know the correct language and terms to use. Although I still haven't perfected the prompts and terminology etc. , I am getting more used to it and I am really liking the discussions we are having. Even though we only finished our education platform, we had a long question/debate/conversation about the amendments and our opinions of rewards systems and teachers funding...it was all really interesting. And we are having lots of fun too! Being rowdy, banging on desks, cross dressing and stripping in class [well really that's only Tom :) ] but yes, I am looking forward to tomorrow and the interesting discussions we will be having. We have three platforms to get through, though, and today we only finished one the whole class period, so hopefully we can get it done!! See you all tomorrow!!

Today

I agree with the topic of discussion about todays activity. I thought it was very interesting and funny with all the people dressed up (especially Tom). But what got my attention the most is how interesting it actually turned out to be. Everyone was quite knowledgeable about the topics that arose and in a way it actually felt like a delegates meeting. For the first time in a while I really enjoyed class and thought it was fun. I cant wait to see what outfits we are in store for tomorrow.

Today

I think that today was a funny day. I did not expect this project to be actually funny but it is!! Especially, Dan was funny with that amendment that he proposed. Spoor also looked funny on that chair. He looked like king on that chair. I wondered for a couple of minutes if he will fall off from that chair or not;p. That would be painful if he actually would fall off. I wonder if tommorow will be a funny day too?

president

i would never want to be a president. its going to be so hard to take care of whole country. you have to do bunch of stuff and its going to give lots of stress. i dont wanna go through all those process. even today when we did our meetings it was so complicated. theres many people opposing. yea its really hard to make decisions. so as a president you have to know how to make a right decision.

so what did you guys think? I liked it. i didn't think that it would be interesting like it was but to my surprise it was. I was not looking forward to it because i hate presenting anything to anybody, but this project is interesting. I also like how we have to dress up like our character. Being President

Being the President of the United States would be an enormously difficult thing to do. You would have to try to do the best things for the country and you would have to try and find a way to make everyone happy, which just isn't possible. Everything you would try to do would be constantly met with backlash. It would be a really stressful job to have, taking care of so many people with different needs and wants. I don't think I would want to be president.

President

I could never be able to go up and give long speechs in front of America. I wouldnt want to be the president because I dont want to do any person in a wrong way. I wouldnt take it serious at all also I would goof off and do dumb things. I dont know what side I would fall under on the poltical spectrum. I would love to live in luxury dont have to do anything around the house living in the White House. I rather not think about all of that right now because in the end I am not running for President and dont think I could take care of America as well as many presidents have.

I don't think I could ever be President. Like Elizabeth said, I am also a horrible public speaker. Whenever I'm nervous I always stutter and can never get out what I want to say. It is kind of embarrasing. I also can't debate, I'm bad at taking things seriously. If I'm in a fight with someone sometimes I just start laughing because I find it funny sometimes when peolpe get angry. I don't know why it's just funny sometimes. I would never be able to keep a straight face and give you a good explanation as to why something is right. All those books that politicians have about them scares me. The books are written just to bash peolpe so I wouldn't want a book about me and saying how I have done so many things wrong and making fun of me for something I did. I don't know I just don't think I would be able to even handle being President.
