Congo

the whole situation in Congo is totally new to me. This was the first time I have ever heard of any hardships happening in Congo and the images and stories that I did hear on that movie were horrific. Usually when I think of Congo i think of crazy white apes that eat people like in that old movie. So when I learned a couple days back about the suffering and the millions of death that have occured I felt very unintelligent i guess. To hear about that baby getting torn to pieces made me want to throw up. I cant wrap my head around how anyone is insane enough to actually take a women's baby and literally rip it apart in front of her eyes. Its like its straight out of one of those horrors movies that just try to be as gory and graphic as possible, but its real. I was shocked to hear about how they tried to elect a leader and when they did nothing changed. When people feel the power of being a leader they can change into the people that they were voted into power to stop. All in all, the feeling with Congo to me is like it is so messed up that I wouldn't even know where to begin to help those people.
