WW

Writer's Week this year was pretty awesome. I especially enjoyed the fact that not once did I have to do like a worksheet or something while I was in the auditorium, which made it easier to actually enjoy what I was watching. I also got to see pretty much all of the really well-known/most looked forward to speakers. My favorite, of course, was when Daphne played! I looked forward to her all week! I also saw a lot of really phenomenal students who got up there and read their stuff. I was impressed with how well written their pieces were, which just goes to show the level of excellence our English department has at teaching writing. I'm regretting not getting up on stage myself seeing as it is my senior year and I love to write, but hindsight is 20/20, right?! In my English class we're supposed to write a paper due Wednesday about anything really, but it has to have been inspired by one of the periods of writer's week we went to, and I have no idea what to do because as I was inspired by the people I heard, I feel like I'd be stealing their ideas if I wrote something similar to what I heard them read. FANBOYS was hilarious, and I'm really upset that they're actually going to perform live on stage next year and I won't be here to witness it! I enjoyed Mary Fons the first day of Writer's Week and I also really liked that guy who co-wrote that book about living in the projects and stuff. He was really interesting and everything he had to say about life and politics and whatever was really powerful and honestly moved me, which was unexpected!
