in response to sabrina

So about immigration...I'm going to say upfront that I'm not against immigration or any immigrants, it's the people who come here and don't bother to learn our language or who come here and talk about how much they hate being here that bugs me. So go home. My grandparents came here when they were both 18 from Sweden. My grandma worked as a maid to earn a living and my grandpa worked in factories his whole life. Before they died, they spoke perfect fluent english (no accent). I know people from many different countries who have been here for over 20 years and still cant form a proper sentense. That's what pisses me off the most. It's ok to speak their native language in their own home, but when they're out in public in America, it would be nice if they actually knew how to speak our own language.
And now about the people who come here and hate our country...I'm not generalizing or stereotyping or being racist, but last year when the whole illegal immigration thing happened, all of the mexicans were walking around draped in the mexican flag or displaying it in some fashion. What I dont understand is that when the immigration thing was happening, it was an issue of whether or not they would be allowed to stay here. So why were they wearing mexican flags? if they really wanted to be here or were trying to somehow protest, wouldnt it make sense to wear the american flag? to prove that you actually support this country and want to be here? if you love mexico so much, go back.

Oh so to what Sabrina said about Cubans being allowed to stay here and Mexicans being shipped off...thats not true. America as a country does not have relations with Cuba. Americans are not allowed to go to Cuba and Cubans aren't allowed to come over here. If anything, it's the Cubans who are shipped off first. If you're talking about Puerto Rico, then thats a different story, because they are actually part of the united states. You dont need a passport to go to Puerto Rico and they are American citizens at birth. So yea....immigration....i might emmigrate back to sweden...i dont know..america is starting to scare me. anyways.....good topic
