Acceptance is one of the most important lessons that a person can learn. It makes me happy to see how everyone who has posted seems to realize this and feel that they have grown to understand the power behind the things they say. I, like everyone, have said things in the past that I regret and afterwords I felt horrible and mean. Whether it be speaking out of anger or a distasteful joke it is important to understand how damaging words can be. Using hurtful words towards someone can never make a situation better and it is certainly nothing to laugh about. For people who are immature, being mean is a way to make them feel superior to someone else. By now we should all have the maturity to instead try to make people feel good about themselves. Besides, it's karmatic law that negative words and actions will come back to you. It is never ok to take the smile away from anyones face. It is selfish and childish.
