My words have definitely hurt people in the past. With the way high school works and the way information spreads so quickly from person to person, we probably don't even realize how many people we have hurt. I know I have talked about people behind their backs before without even knowing the first thing about them, or basing my opinion off of something that happened years ago or something that happened to a friend. I have heard from friends that others have said things about me, and that isn't a good feeling. So, I try not to gossip about anyone. And I try not to say hurtful things to my friends because that only makes a situation worse. For example, if I feel that a friend is being mean to me, cursing them out and returning the mean comments is actually not the best idea. I think our social experience would be a lot more pleasant if we all would think before we speak and consider the feelings of others as we want them to consider our own feelings.
Dan- I really enjoyed Freakonomics, it was interesting and kept my attention the whole time. It talked about a lot of different topics that I, personally, had never thought about. It also did it in a really interesting way because the authors looked deeper into the topics than you normally would. I would highly recommend it.
