This has happened to me once before when me anda friend were talking about what to do during the weekend. He asked If I wanted to go to the mall and I dumbly replied " Thats retarded". My friend looked at me and just stared. I later found out his cousin was mentally challenged. I felt like such a jerk. I try now to never use that word. It's almost like a curse word to me now.
